00:02The record schedule meeting is a milestone for Monday, July 3, 2023.
00:08That's the gift.
00:09Let's get the personal experiences.
00:11We have none.
00:12Three claims.
00:13Much to a proof.
00:16Yes?
00:17He said, hi.
00:18Hi.
00:19Hi.
00:20Or, for his minutes, at the June 20th, 2023,
00:23regular meeting.
00:24Motion.
00:25Second.
00:26Second.
00:27He said, hi.
00:28Hi.
00:31In the five, same engagement letter from Crawford and Associates.
00:34Motion.
00:35Second.
00:36Second.
00:37Second.
00:38Second.
00:39Second.
00:40Second.
00:41Six.
00:42If I say manager signature on travelers, authorization
00:45to bind coverage for the fiscal year 23, 24.
00:51CabEx actually ended with travelers during the 30th.
00:54And so in order to keep us moving forward, our city manager had to sign the authorization to bind the coverage.
01:01and so what this is for is just to recognize his signature.
01:07I don't know if you've had time to look at the BR, the air not, but the total premium of all lines of business will be $810,000, $2,076 a year and the approved budget amount was 877 so it came in a little bit less than what we thought it was going to be.
01:24They did send out for bits, for other insurance agencies, or companies for me, just, no, that information is not in here.
01:34We gave us part of the results and we just, because of the year that we've had, they just really couldn't get, we had $1.9 million worth of claims this year, so this really wasn't the best year to try to get someone else to write our coverage.
01:56We've, they've, travelers has paid $348,000 and then they have a $1.6 million pending in claims.
02:04But they did open up for bits.
02:06They did open up for bits.
02:07They did open up for bits.
02:08They did open up for bits.
02:09They did open up for bits.
02:10They got, and they, really, the only person that they got to, to bid on part of was OMAG.
02:15And they wouldn't write all of the lines.
02:17They wouldn't only do part of it.
02:19So if we would have went with OMAG and then the other lines that we would have had to go with separate, it would have cost us $891,000.
02:28So this is a calendar that is our broker today who went out and looked at other coverage to see if there was better through travelers or someone else.
02:36And then there's a few of them that they do break out.
02:38And that's why they go ahead and quote, OMAG and some others.
02:41But they put together what they believe were the best rates we could get.
02:46And considering the losses we had this late in the fiscal year, that's probably part of the reason why some of the rate was coming back this late,
02:55knowing that we were going to run out of time.
02:57But we had big claims that were.
03:00depending. And so they had to make sure they understood what all of those losses were going to be.
03:04And when they basically addressed with the underwriters to get us a new quote.
03:08So we kind of came in just under the wire to get the new quote to get it reviewed and then approved.
03:14So that's why it's got a few fires.
03:16Yeah, hopefully.
03:17You know, there's just, you know, a huge losses.
03:20So.
03:21So we just, we had a 308 percent loss ratio this year.
03:29So when you're, if you're a business, if you're an underwriters, you use a how much of my
03:33bringing in and plenty and premium, how much of my paid out claims.
03:36Yeah, they had a 338 percent loss on us this year.
03:40You know, over the last five years, we're committed about 101 percent loss ratio.
03:44So we're kind of, they're kind of breaking even on us.
03:46So glad they're hanging in there with us.
03:48So is there any needs to do a direct deeper dive on what some of these issues are?
03:52I mean, obviously, we know what started the fires.
03:55I mean, we've got a lot of bomb in the past looking at the trend.
03:58It feels like maybe corrective actions need to be taken.
04:01So what we've actually done is is they have some things they're going to be working with us on that.
04:06Gowder has some programs as well as travelers that we're going to be taking advantage of to see if what we can be doing to mitigate our risk.
04:13And that may be personal training safety training, things like that, but we agree that we need to be doing everything we can to make sure that we're not.
04:22Getting to this loss ratio because we need to have better numbers than this.
04:27It's expensive to have a bad loss ratio right here.
04:31Your rates are going to go on.
04:32So yeah, we've talked about and worked with them and they had lots of great programs that they're going to make it available to us at no cost.
04:40It's just obviously what they do.
04:42So we've committed, in fact, I had a conversation with Chris about it today and leaving on him as well.
04:48Just him in Travis and Kevin to start seeing how we roll this out.
04:54A city wide and then kind of doing a deeper dive and making sure that we're protecting our assets and protecting our people.
05:01So this thing we have tonight we really don't have a choice.
05:04Nope.
05:05You're ratifying the signature that we've already put in Mark here.
05:08Get it with all this.
05:09You have a great work on relationship these guys.
05:11You're good.
05:12Yep.
05:13We have a party.
05:27We will be having a party.
05:31We will be having a party.
05:33Oh thanks.
05:35You just bullet.
05:38Yeah, the 14th will be his last day.
05:44If we don't okay, since boy already signed it, he paid for it.
05:52Much to approve.
05:55Second.
05:56He's dead.
05:58Five.
05:59Five.
06:00Thanks, Jimmy.
06:01Seven.
06:02Did any new business to the riddles of the posting this agenda?
06:05Eight.
06:07Mayor Council, committee announcements?
06:09For the July tomorrow, everybody be safe.
06:12Have fun.
06:13Make sure this isn't the last time you see all your 10 fingers.
06:19All right.
06:20So I'll go a little bit further on that.
06:21For the July, I think we'll be serving some hot dogs and water.
06:24Stuff like that out there.
06:25Yep.
06:26So if you want to come help hand that stuff out.
06:29I don't have access to the same amenities that had latch to your company.
06:32Maybe I can pull some strings.
06:34Hopefully.
06:35Buffalo and we're done.
06:36We'll be out there.
06:37It's going to be lots of great family fun activities.
06:40We're going to have fans.
06:43I think we, this is in collaboration with Peoria Tribe.
06:48City provides fireworks and three hot logs.
06:51Peoria is providing everything else.
06:53Yeah.
06:54Amazing job.
06:55Great work.
06:56Yeah.
06:57I'd say the last three years I wasn't well with this.
06:59It's been a much better event than it was any year in that part.
07:03Just for this year.
07:05Yeah.
07:06And you hear a lot of people say, I don't go.
07:08It's just a buffalo ranch.
07:09It's 16.
07:10You don't have to go inside.
07:11There are things outside.
07:12If you don't feel like going inside, you don't have to.
07:15No.
07:16So the tribe there does a lot to put into this from their own pockets.
07:21Right.
07:22There.
07:24Chief Harper likes us all the day.
07:26And he goes all out for the kids stuff.
07:29He does a concert.
07:30And he uses us on top of fly over.
07:32Yep.
07:33They go all out.
07:34We appreciate their partnership on this for sure.
07:36Food trucks.
07:37Yeah.
07:38It's going to be going to be great.
07:40So the other thing I have is, I went to the Coleman this afternoon.
07:45The quappal tribe had a movie they showed called Imagineing the Indian.
07:50Wow.
07:51That's what a great educational piece.
07:54It was basically about schools and colleges and high schools that use for their mascots.
08:04You know, the Indians or red skins and how offensive it is to try our tribal partners.
08:11And very educational for me, especially.
08:16But if you guys get a chance to see it, it takes about an hour and a half.
08:20I think it's what the movie was.
08:21But well, it was good.
08:22It was good.
08:23And I think they're going to have another showing in Tulsa.
08:26But it'll be public to where you can log on to get some wrong internet.
08:29I'm not sure where.
08:30But it was good piece.
08:32Yeah.
08:34You know.
08:35Yeah.
08:36So you may enter communication.
08:39So the transportation.
08:41As of this time, it's going to remain closed until further notice.
08:46It is closed to the public to the population.
08:50We just don't know when we're going to be able to open it up for safety.
08:52We're still working with the insurance and the fire suppression company.
08:56Try to figure out what we were wrong.
08:58But we have to make sure that.
09:00It's a safe building before we allow the public to go back into it.
09:03And so we've kind of lived a long year,
09:05say it'll be next week, or it'll be next week.
09:08At this point, we still can get to a clarification
09:12of what's wrong with the system.
09:13So rather than just keep living along,
09:15it's close until we can make sure it's safe.
09:18OK, so I would like to ask then that we
09:21think of some alternatives for our systems.
09:25And so we've been talking about what they would look like.
09:28And so we've pulled together some ideas around either putting
09:32roll-offs, or they're accessible, but can be monitored.
09:35Maybe we have a yard waste disposal day,
09:42we can monitor it because, again, we
09:45would just open it up and let people bring the yard waste in there,
09:47but it gets difficult when they bring it up trash.
09:50Right.
09:50Because then obviously it's problem.
09:53So it'll have to be something that we can finally monitor.
09:56But we'll figure out some options.
09:57Because we agree we're going to have to do something.
10:01Lots of citizens that are getting frustrated
10:03because the conversations are having
10:06with code enforcement, the code enforcement, as well,
10:08where in is working with people, very, very forgiving
10:13of what they're timing is going to be.
10:15So they know, and they're working with it.
10:18So we'll welcome up some solutions to bring it back.
10:23The other thing I wanted to bring up,
10:25if I can, in my ear, is our dollar-part and imagination library
10:29that the program the library's going to do in there,
10:31up to 600 kids, and it's a lot of stuff.
10:34Great number there.
10:36And then Kimby hits it out an email.
10:40Do you all regarding me, cracking crab,
10:432020-3, that's coming up, that'll be August 24th.
10:47So check your calendars.
10:49We'll see if that's something that you adore
10:51your spouses can attend, and I'll get us signed up
10:55for the table because it's always good for us to be there
11:00and support all of our local businesses when we can.
11:04But obviously you have to pay for a table,
11:07and it's part of our support.
11:08So let me know what your availability is.
11:11We'll get, Kimby will get us signed up if you can make it.
11:18Come again, adjournment.
11:19Motion.
11:19Second.
11:21Zero vote.
11:21Hi.
11:22He said.
11:22Hi.
11:23Hi.
11:24Holy cow.
11:2615 minutes.
11:27That's the fastest.
11:28That's a regular reason.
