[03:24] totally wiped out from all of this reference. And they love it. And we've set out there
[03:33] as not kids. It's 20 and 30 year olds. We had an officer out to see us last Sunday, and
[03:45] he was very nice Brad Mullin, I believe it was, but he's on leave now. He's there giving birth
[03:53] to a little girl. And he said, well, if it will help, we'll set down here, but of course,
[04:00] he's not there anymore. So what can we do? What do you say? It's a hopeless situation, and
[04:14] it's too bad because the apartments are beautiful. And we have a good social life there,
[04:21] we have the jam, we have the community room, we have the pool room, we have the puzzle room, but I'm
[04:28] sorry. You can't live with that kind of racket all the time, and they love it. They just love
[04:35] to do it. So we could start with the three things I mentioned, the quiet zone. They used
[04:44] to have quiet zone signs there, I've heard that. What happened? We can't even carry conversations
[05:51] to bad because it's a beautiful building.
[06:01] So I'm leaving it there and we do have ladies believe it or not who are ready to go

[07:32] But we've sat down there and watched them. They will stop at the four-way stop on first street and then gun the motors
[07:40] Try to get us a ties they can until they get to central in one block and that's how they make the noise

[13:02] And we can contract and do things because the council government is just good boys.
[13:07] And so we've been.
[13:08] We do a lot of things.
[13:10] We do rule-firing.
[13:11] You know, less than you know I've met.
[13:12] They were not economic development activities because, you know, I've been around.
[13:16] I've been at Green Gateway 29 years.
[13:18] So I've been here for a long time.
[13:20] I actually, when good rich clothes, I was a grad student.
[13:23] It came down here to research on trying to figure out what we're going to do with a good rich clothes.
[13:28] And that's where we came up with the Perky Park.
[13:31] And we came up with the office park.
[13:33] And you know, we've just done a lot of projects.
[13:35] And I was here for progress parks development.
[13:37] And those couple of things.
[13:38] And that's the economic development community on the side of us.
[13:41] We also do a rule-firing advance.
[13:43] We fund the area agencies on AG with help and legislature.
[13:46] And, you know, so we do a lot of things at Green Gateway.
[13:49] But we're really yours.
[13:51] You guys own us.
[13:52] We work for you.
[13:53] And I just wanted to make that clear.
[13:55] Now we are a full profit entity.
[13:58] But we are.
[13:59] Is we're trying to provide this federal grant to you for Pellan.
[14:03] That's cheap as we can do it.
[14:05] Because we know that your match is what matches our federal grant.
[14:09] Now theoretically, it's a 50-50 percent operating grant.
[14:12] But the truth is, in my image case, you pay about 10 percent of the way.
[14:15] And we're scrounging together those other dollars to keep that match down.
[14:19] I think we supplied some numbers to you.
[14:21] It's a little over 400,000 more costs for the city service.
[14:25] We've also added the tribes.
[14:27] We sell advertising on the buses.
[14:29] And we do everything that we can to try to keep those costs down as a service to you.
[14:35] And I think there's sometimes a little bit of confusion about this.
[14:39] And I think there's a question about how we do extra hour things.
[14:44] And theoretically, we're licensed by the grant to do from 7.30 to 4.30.
[14:49] And we've been able to extend hours and use contracts that we have with the tribes.
[14:54] We've done some other things.
[14:55] We've chased some other grants.
[14:56] And we've some things that we've just picked as we tried it.
[14:59] We've done some other things.
[15:00] in the service without adding additional cost.
[15:04] And one of the things that we've tried to do throughout the years is meet your quest.
[15:09] And I've done it with the Chamber of Commerce and Leadership by Ameth.
[15:12] But it's against the law for us to what they call a charter service, robotic charter service.
[15:20] And so every time we ask for that permission, we get Jefferson, lines, and greyhound
[15:25] and people kind of complain and we don't get to what we're not allowed to do that.
[15:28] So our really our only choice is to do those extra things, is get them in our grant early and make it a route that's served once a year.
[15:37] We do that with KMO and Benita.
[15:39] We've done projects like that here with you.
[15:41] And so other than that, we are just trying to break you.
[15:45] So when you ask for something a little special, whether you end up using your shun up, we're putting
[15:50] in extra buses out there, we'll pay an extra drivers and we're just trying to cover the service.
[15:54] We get no profit.
[15:56] There is no profit and penalty.
[15:58] And what we do is you're in applying the match a few years ago with a different council.
[16:04] There's a lot of questions about how we are giving discounted rods to natives.
[16:08] And what we actually did is we got a grant from them and they actually paid the freight on each rod.
[16:14] Each rod of ours is booked.
[16:16] It's audited from the federal and state government.
[16:18] We do it every day.
[16:20] And so we don't really have any extra money.
[16:23] I think we provided to Ben the budget for the Miami Out program.
[16:28] And you put about $46,000 and a little over $400,000 for the project.
[16:33] And so those things, we are trying to keep your cost as low as we possibly can.
[16:38] Now, we operate this in like seven cities.
[16:41] And you are our truly our biggest system.
[16:43] We provide more service here in Miami than we do in, I would say, a WASO in KMO combined.
[16:50] And this is a crisis.
[16:52] It's a first one.
[16:53] You're the first entity that joined the year old first city.
[16:56] It's a joint great gateway.
[16:57] They're also the first contract that we ever signed with.
[17:00] Peleband was here in Miami.
[17:02] So what we've been able to do is use that federal grant that they give us.
[17:05] And but we've expanded it throughout the years and that's why it's no longer 50-50 match.
[17:10] Because the grant hasn't increased.
[17:12] The service has.
[17:14] And part of that service.
[17:15] I used to come to you guys probably every two or three years when we had two or three bands in town.
[17:19] And we was felt like we could safely haul about 33 people a day.
[17:23] And when it got beyond that, we started seeing accident.
[17:25] It's a bit used to be my attorney.
[17:27] And he said, we would have little accidents.
[17:30] And so that's when we'd come to the city and say, you know, we're getting beyond our safety limits.
[17:34] And you guys want to add a bus.
[17:36] And this would be the extra cost for it.
[17:38] And recently, we actually added the tribal operation here.
[17:42] We partnered with ITC and those tribes.
[17:44] We've not had that kind of growth.
[17:46] We've been able to supply after our services.
[17:48] We've done different things with them.
[17:50] But we're just running it for you.
[17:52] This grant rather than coming to the city and mine for you to operate.
[17:56] We operate on behalf of the seven counties in our area.
[18:00] And so, that's why we do it.
[18:02] But I will literally literally eat cities
[18:04] a separate operation.
[18:05] We find the answer that way, we show every ride.
[18:08] And so, that will actually, that $500 will be glad to do it,
[18:12] but if it's worth the wallet,
[18:13] we're just going to add it to your cost.
[18:15] And that, because we don't have,
[18:17] we don't make money.
[18:18] There's no more grant money available.
[18:19] And we're just really providing, really,
[18:22] a four million-dollar system, you know,
[18:24] regional-wide, what should be a two million-dollar operating
[18:27] two million from then.
[18:29] And we've got it down to like $50,500,000 with a grant,
[18:32] and the cities come up with the other thing.
[18:34] So, every time we sell a wrap,
[18:36] it's the little, your cross-tiered Miami,
[18:38] we have the cost to Miami, just for Miami.
[18:42] We don't blend the system.
[18:44] So, we make the city of Miami stand alone,
[18:46] we make the need of stand alone,
[18:47] like gross stand alone, we want to play more stand alone.
[18:50] We even were asked to do a while,
[18:51] so a few years ago, because they're half of the while,
[18:53] so it was in our counties.
[18:55] And so, that's how we run that system.
[18:57] The same is true with prior.
[19:00] But so, that's, so when you see our costs,
[19:02] it's our actual costs.
[19:03] And we spent days with your attorney, not being with another one.
[19:06] We came over and looked at our books and made sure
[19:08] that we were not unfairly given the need of your eyes
[19:11] that weren't being paid for.
[19:12] And so, I'm glad to come and talk to you.

[19:29] and where we're going, and we're trying to try to come up

[19:42] We get a $46,000 match from you guys
[19:45] and the operation costs us about $400,000 to around.
[19:48] But that's okay, because this is what we do.
[19:49] But I do want to explain to you that that contract
[19:52] is specifically for seven, three to four very service.
[19:54] We're happy to do anything extra,
[19:56] but we do have to kind of talk about that
[19:57] because what we're doing is we're pulling away
[19:59] from your service and we're getting into charter regulations,
[20:01] which could get Pelvian into big trouble.
[20:05] But I want to talk about your numbers right now,
[20:07] since I think that a lot of you have
[20:09] and heard the Pelvian's feel before,
[20:11] you do have one of the most innovative public transit systems
[20:15] in the state in the nation.
[20:17] Actually, you have the most efficient innovative in the state,
[20:20] hands down.
[20:22] We have implemented an after-hour service
[20:24] to your system called pick transportation,
[20:26] which is a partnership with Uber.
[20:28] So you actually have a public drop-down that runs from five to 10
[20:31] and 10 to two on Saturdays.
[20:33] It takes care of that and financially through the grants.
[20:36] So that's one of the things that you have going.
[20:37] But my aim is a very, very transit-dependent area.
[20:41] For example, your numbers in 2019,
[20:44] for your 46 for the maps that you guys pay,
[20:46] for 2019, we gave 29,719 trips.
[20:50] Now, in 2020, we dropped down to 18,400
[20:53] and that was with COVID-19.
[20:56] Your numbers actually stayed the highest throughout our system,
[20:59] and currently, right now.
[21:00] Right now you're at 11,000 and six trips and we still have months and months to go.
[21:05] So Miami is a very transit dependent area and as far as pick transportation goes we've been
[21:11] rolling this project out your after hours transportation project which comes at no cost to
[21:16] the city.
[21:17] You have currently since June 1st we've given 218 trips in that system.
[21:22] That doesn't sound like a lot but it really is and it's very cool.
[21:26] We've also transported 12 wheelchair dependent individuals which means that we've given
[21:31] them freedom to move about the community of Miami after hours.
[21:35] I'm seeing that most of your trips are being used for shopping which means that we contribute
[21:40] to the local economy in a big way as well.
[21:43] But I wanted you just to kind of know where your numbers are out with the system to see
[21:46] that you're steadily increasing to let you know that we're happy to do any kind of extra service
[21:51] that we have.
[21:52] I think that next time maybe I should sit down and communicate that with someone from the
[21:57] city that might be a good move we're happy to do those things we just have to be really careful
[22:02] of charter regulations and just wanted to make sure that you know that the system that we provide
[22:06] to you is very efficient and it's a pretty good deal.

[26:00] We've been doing this over the years. I think there was one year that we didn't
[26:05] One year that we didn't have it but we mostly done gardening and exercise classes and cooking classes
[26:13] We've got some other things as well
[26:15] We have six
[26:18] Garden beds at Ottawa County Health Department. You can still see those if you drive by we put in three at the boys and girls club
[26:25] And then
[26:26] One at the lead agency we've had Tai Chi classes yoga classes
[26:32] Even chair exercise classes for seniors and then we've had a multitude of cooking classes
[26:38] A lot of them have been for kids mostly through the boys and girls club. We've gone to Miami
[26:42] We've gone to commerce. We've gone to Fairland and
[26:46] And you can see the
[26:48] The lovely the mayor's lovely daughter Jordan over at the left because she's taught a lot of these classes
[26:54] She's a
[26:55] Nutritionist at northeastern tribal health system and then also we've had
[27:00] classes for adults as well. And so this is just a kind of review up to you today and then
[27:05] Kelly's going to tell you a couple things about the current brand.
[27:12] So last year we got this brand and if you're a curve ball because of COVID and we had to kind
[27:17] of think out of the outside of the box on it. So last year we did a lot of virtual programming.
[27:22] So this year we're excited because we get to step into in-person again. So what I have planned
[27:29] I've got several fitness classes lined up with Bible arm, white knife, Rick police going to do
[27:37] Tai Chi with us again and then Kelsey Weiner is going to do some aerobics classes. We're going to have
[27:43] classes for kids and adults. We're going to be doing cooking classes for children and adults. Some
[27:48] at the boys and girls clubs, some at the library. With that I actually found two chefs out of
[27:54] Tulsa that are willing to travel up here and do those classes for us. So they'll be able to do some
[27:59] actual professional style cooking as well as tie in the healthy aspect of eating fruits and vegetables and
[28:05] how to prepare those. We're also going to have some informational classes. One of the things we struggle with
[28:11] in this community is just healthy eating and activity. So the health department's going to come in and talk
[28:18] about diabetes. They're going to talk about proper nutrition. We're going to do some teen health
[28:22] classes with them as well. So here's some of the partners that we work with last year. We did the
[28:29] farmers market. I don't know if anybody saw that out there. We handed out smoothie kits. We taught people
[28:33] how to make healthful smoothies with fresh ingredients and then we pass those out for them to make it home.
[28:39] So this year it's going to be a little bit different. We're going to just advertise that the farmers
[28:43] market. I could say the health department's going to help us out. And we're going to be trying to
[28:46] help boys and girls club and integrists are all part of this great. It may not be a big grant, but it

[29:23] 10. Approve or approval or rejection of preliminary design and implementation of natural learning environment
[29:32] outdoor classroom project. This is something that we're very excited about. We always hope that
[29:39] the life just comes to us and very seldom does it ever work this way all the way through.
[29:46] Late last year, early this year, I think it actually started with Amanda and Bo, who's out of medium
[29:52] and we were approached by the tribes about putting in a natural outdoor classroom at some location.
[30:05] So after discussion, settled on the flashback,
[30:10] that's about there to kind of explain that complex.
[30:13] Nothing that I have done very little on this project.
[30:18] This is really a tribally run project.
[30:21] Diana Baker with the Shawnee Tribe, Carol Essex,
[30:24] with the Ottawa Tribe, and Tracy Beck with Miami Tribe.
[30:27] They're a really spearhead in this project.
[30:29] They can't just vary into the ones that want to go.
[30:33] Those aren't want to play anymore.
[30:34] So we just really got to kind of set that.
