[01:05] Yeah.
[01:07] Approved six months master.
[01:09] We're in Olson.
[01:10] This is what we talked about in MN2A.
[01:12] I'd like to motion to approve.
[01:14] Second.
[01:15] Parker.
[01:18] Five.
[01:19] Seven.

[01:36] Realty.
[01:37] County LLC.
[01:38] This is an amendment to a contract that was originally entered in 2000.
[01:43] In the combined.
[01:44] It was a five year term.
[01:46] Initially with five.
[01:48] Five year options to prevent to renew.
[01:52] So we're.
[01:53] By my calculations, we're in the third of those.
[01:56] We know three little terms at this point.
[01:59] Basically, they're wanting to change out some of the equipment on the tower.
[02:05] That is required.
[02:07] The modification of the contract.
[02:09] That's what we're asking.
[02:11] We would like to take this opportunity to point out.
[02:16] This is another example of where the city and MN2A have been perhaps sloppy.
[02:26] And distinguishing between the two entities.
[02:29] And this particular instance.
[02:31] The contract is between.
[02:34] The MN and the city.
[02:37] But all the money goes to MN2A.
[02:40] Because that's the way they nested up in 2005.
[02:45] So again, I just want to take this as an opportunity.
[02:49] Say we need the more careful.
[02:52] And how were your designating.
[02:55] Which entity is doing what?
[03:00] But the bottom line is that they're changing out equipment.
[03:03] We need to approve this.
[03:05] I agree with that.
[03:06] Pull out that habit.
[03:07] What's the fix?
[03:13] If it's wrong, how do we fix it?
[03:16] It's been wrong since the ghetto.
[03:18] And I think that that error carries through the remainder of the term.
[03:22] But this is just one of many examples where it's.
[03:27] It's just been confusion on everybody's part, including the city's part,
[03:31] just need to be more cautious, and how we're doing it in the future.
[03:36] I'll make a motion wait for you.
[03:50] Second.
[04:05] Davis.
[04:09] Don't go.
[04:11] He's down.
[04:12] All right.
[04:13] December.
[04:16] I'm Steve.
[04:18] Approve outside organizational contracts.
[04:19] For fiscal year 21.
[04:21] With community crisis center.
[04:23] Grand Gateway.
[04:24] Peleban.
[04:25] And my youngest senior.
[04:26] Center.
[04:28] It's June.
[04:29] Yeah.
[04:30] So this is the annual contract that we have with, but we kind of turn them outside organizations.
[04:35] And the reason why we term them.
[04:38] Call them that is because they all use the same essential contract with just a very few changes.
[04:43] Got the same template.
[04:45] I put in the VA.
[04:47] What each entity gets, community crisis center gets a $10,000 utility credit.
[04:52] The mine, the senior center gets a $12,000 utility credit.
[04:56] $12,000 in reimburse expenses.
[04:59] And they also get $12,000 for docs services.
[05:03] They used to pay them $1,000 rent.
[05:06] And they lost some, excuse me, some federal funding.
[05:09] So the city took over that portion of that expense also.
[05:12] That's $3600 package.
[05:14] And then Peleban.
[05:15] It's $46,000 of reimburse expenses.
[05:18] These are the same numbers that we've had for several years.
[05:22] That's a total of $70,000 in cash and $22,000 in utility credit.
[05:27] The changes presented tonight.
[05:30] There's three changes on this.
[05:32] I'm going to say template contract for each entity.
[05:35] One is in the past we had them giving us quarterly financials.
[05:40] I'm requesting that we change that to happen.
[05:43] Give us financials when they request a reimbursement.
[05:46] They, it's just something that they have to come back and cure several times a year.
[05:51] It becomes a, it's just forgetting.
[05:53] It's, it's hard to remember.
[05:55] And the other number two is probably the best.
[06:00] seven or eight years ago, the council asked, they were looking at reducing the funding to these
[06:05] organizations and they put in a clause that said, we need your report on January and what
[06:12] you would do if you're if you're funding those reduced by 10 percent. We've not reduced the funding
[06:19] and I'm asking that we can't report out. It was just we would receive a simple email that said,
[06:24] we would just reduce services and that's pretty much what the answer was.
[06:27] Did we receive those reports? We did. We do receive those reports. If when we don't and not on
[06:32] time, we bring we bring it before you to cure the contract. The third item is a new item that
[06:40] we're the cities going to look at doing is accepting a civil rights program or policy and we're
[06:47] asking for these three entities to provide us with their civil rights policy by December 31st.
[06:55] Two of them have already provided that policy and the other one we'll get with the contract's
[06:59] approved. So I'm just asking to approve to approve as presented with the changes.
[07:07] In that last changes is mandated by federal law. We have to adopt the civil rights policy and part of that
[07:18] is everybody we give money to has to have a similar civil rights policy. So it's passing along
[07:29] like federal law versus. I got a question because this came up here recently on the Pellavan.
[07:39] We give those guys $46,000 a year, but we asked them to help us during the event last weekend to
[07:46] bus people from if needed from the six center to Main Street and it's $500. They want to charge us.
[07:55] We end up not using it at all but we still got to pay a $500. So that shouldn't have been anything.
[08:06] Right. I feel like it fits. If you're going to give it a put on by the city that and we need that.
[08:13] I mean I'm sure we don't want to take advantage of it, but we may have it in one of the work
[08:18] with this a little bit. Maybe it two minutes maybe a year or something. That would certainly be something that we could
[08:25] ingest in that contract. I don't disagree with you at all. You think that the amount of money you're paying and the
[08:34] good tax we can't say. So that's something we can get into the contract before we approve it. That's what you all want. That's what we can do.
[08:45] That's what I would like. I don't know what they're about. I also would like, but I feel like it's
[08:49] a little bit before we're being a good partner paying the 46,000. Yes, they're being a good partner and they're
[08:53] charged 500. That seems a little extreme to me on that side.
[09:00] That being the case, might I suggest, we vote on each contract separately.
[09:05] And there's another reason why we should do that.
[09:10] That's exactly what I was going to suggest because the other two shouldn't suffer because of one.
[09:16] Anybody else have any more questions on them?
[09:21] So we're looking for a motion to approve the community crisis service.
[09:25] Comrade.
[09:26] So moved.
[09:28] I'll say it.
[09:29] East End Parker?
[09:31] Aye.
[09:32] Mr. Stan.
[09:33] Assembly.
[09:35] Mr. Stano.
[09:36] And then.
[09:38] And we're on table in a good way.
[09:43] Vote that.
[09:46] And then we'll be looking for approval on.
[09:48] Promotion to approve on the Mama Seenier Center.
[09:51] Assessment.
[09:52] Saundry.
[09:57] No second.
[09:58] Davis.
[10:00] Parker.
[10:01] Nice.
[10:02] East End Park.
[10:03] The formal, the member.
[10:04] Aye.
[10:06] And 12.
[10:07] Economic Development, Contract.
[10:09] I think I've developed a services, Mr. Charlotte Allen.
[10:12] Let's see her here.
[10:15] So we're going to table that one.
[10:19] Which one goes outside?
[10:21] Charlotte Allen.
[10:23] I'll see you.
[10:24] Yes.
[10:25] Okay. So we'll see.
[10:26] She's still working on the contract.
[10:28] Okay. So we'll table them.
[10:33] Except for reject bid.
[10:34] See 21 dash 15, the amount of 68,390 dollars to Collins construction company for demolition of the following properties.
[10:42] One or two ice out east.
[10:44] One, eleven iron northeast.
[10:46] One, eighteen, eight north west.
[10:48] Two, ten, eight north east.
[10:50] Six, oh, four, ell north west.
[10:52] And two, eight north west.
[10:54] Approve contract contingent upon this emission.
[10:57] A required contract documents.
[10:59] A approved by city manager or his days.
[11:01] And it doesn't need to sign.
[11:02] Notice to proceed.
[11:03] Let's proceed to the point.
[11:06] So this is because the contract on this is over.
[11:11] We've been here that we've come back over 50,000.
[11:15] And it has to come before the ice.
[11:17] We did.
[11:18] A approved.
[11:19] We did go out to bid.
[11:20] We had one.
[11:21] Responded.
[11:22] As I said.
[11:23] In the.
[11:24] We ate.
[11:25] And that was.
[11:26] Collins.
[11:27] Part of the reason.
[11:28] Price is so high.
[11:29] On this contract.
[11:31] It's three of his properties.
[11:33] And the specialist.
[11:35] That has to be protected out.
[11:37] And have it removed.
[11:38] When he does that.
[11:42] You guys have someone checking up on him.
[11:45] Checking up to make sure that it's in the close container.
[11:48] Taking to an approved landfill.
[11:50] So another landfill.
[11:51] And Kansas will take certain kinds of a spest is.
[11:55] For the same.
[11:56] The rest of the house.
[12:00] So he doesn't have this just in the way of certification, what he conquers that out.
[12:07] So he does have a different company coming in there.
[12:11] So do we have a grant for this?
[12:15] No, this is not part of his grant.
[12:17] This is a city demo that's coming out of the demo of.
[12:22] So we're making sure that the expenses are removed before he proceeds with the demo.
[12:28] We don't do an inspection or so.
[12:30] We contract with Collins and he's responsible for that.
[12:34] So how do we know he's doing the right thing?
[12:38] We don't.
[12:39] No, we don't.
[12:40] We don't expect to do that.
[12:41] We don't expect to do that.
[12:42] We don't.
[12:43] We don't.
[12:44] We don't.
[12:45] We don't.
[12:46] We don't.
[12:47] We don't.
[12:48] We don't.
[12:49] We don't.
[12:50] We don't.
[12:51] We don't.
[12:53] We don't expect it.
[12:56] We're not certified to inspect that and trust.
[13:00] You know, as the contractor.
[13:01] He goes after.
[13:02] He gets his.
[13:03] A specialist contract.
[13:04] To remove it.
[13:05] And hasn't.
[13:06] We're going to take care of.
[13:08] Do we even know if the.
[13:11] The.
[13:12] Asbestos contractor even shows up in Miami.
[13:14] That was.
[13:15] Yeah.
[13:16] The house up there.
[13:17] A close to where they.
[13:18] This is.
[13:20] We'll stay on this used to be.
[13:23] I can't reference to 27 to 29 to 10 to the home.
[13:26] The contract and 10 with the whole house.
[13:29] And then.
[13:32] We work.
[13:33] So yes, he.
[13:34] He was.
[13:35] I mean, that was on the last.
[13:36] Our queue.
[13:37] So that's an example.
[13:38] Yes.
[13:39] He was on the side.
[13:40] How did you know.
[13:41] How did you know.
[13:42] What.
[13:43] Well, I'm in there.
[13:44] I saw it.
[13:45] Are you going to go to everyone and make sure.
[13:46] I don't.
[13:48] I think it's something that.
[13:50] It should.
[13:51] I had to happen.
[13:52] I know when we demoed my church.
[13:56] As a big looks.
[13:57] Asbestos.
[13:58] And all this stuff is in close containers.
[13:59] And.
[14:00] Tended off.
[14:01] Yes.
[14:02] That was.
[14:03] That was.
[14:04] That was.
[14:05] That was.
[14:06] That was.
[14:07] That was.
[14:08] That was.
[14:09] That was.
[14:10] That was.
[14:11] That was.
[14:12] That was.
[14:13] That was.
[14:14] That was.
[14:15] That was.
[14:17] There's a lot of this information.
[14:18] I'm going to check on one of the three in the process.
[14:19] As I said they're pretty close.
[14:20] So I put an.
[14:21] That's all three just make sure.
[14:23] It's being done.
[14:24] Okay, but understand we're not experts.
[14:26] I mean, nobody make sure he's there.
[14:28] He's there.
[14:30] You just are willing.
[14:31] To verify that.
[14:32] And the.
[14:33] And the.
[14:34] I've.
[14:35] A best to.
[14:36] But I guess.
[14:38] This.
[14:40] This.
[14:42] This.
[14:43] how it's supposed to do them up for me.
[14:45] Right.
[14:46] And that's in food and in the food.
[14:48] And included in the contract, that's right.
[14:51] But does the company that he contract,
[14:53] providing him with a certificate of what is it?
[14:58] They're certificate that they have.
[15:00] saying that they can be an abatement company. We had to do this, so I had the company send
[15:07] me their certification that they are certified to remove asbestos.
[15:12] So you will go buy and check on them and make sure they're actually there and do it.
[15:27] Yes.
[15:29] And we do have the money that's already budgeted. Correct.
[15:32] Yes.
[15:40] All my commotion.
[15:41] Second.
[15:43] Thank you.
[15:50] Fourteen summer programs at the library, Judy, Cali, and Marsha.
[15:54] We can jump on the mission at the library as well as all of the department of library
[16:05] arts and cultures to enhance the quality of our community.
[16:08] And there's lots of different ways that we do this but we're just going to try a little bit
[16:12] about what we've done over the summer.
[16:15] And I have with me, Judy, baby, and our children's library, Song of Haskins, our T-Liberian,
[16:21] and Cali Fortner, the Assistant Library Director, who's going to talk about the health
[16:25] literacy.
[16:26] So we'll start with you.
[16:28] Okay.
[16:29] Thank you.
[16:31] Okay.
[16:32] Well, our Center Programming went into a very different looking program as a 2020.
[16:45] We were used to having lots and lots of people flooding into the library and lots of kids
[16:51] with three different age group programs going on and when Cali did, we had to kind of rebuild
[16:55] ourselves.
[16:56] And so this is a little bit of a summer change, although we haven't had what in-house.
[17:02] We have had a life of friends in the park and we've been going to, boys and girls club.
[17:10] We're very partners with them.
[17:13] So we had two live programs in Riverview Park and we started off at some of our programs
[17:20] with Tommy Truffet, the Incident of the Kevin Way.
[17:24] Some of our sponsors, the summer that help us with not only programming the prizes and everything,
[17:30] the Institute of Museum of Library Services, O-D-L of Women's Heart of Libraries, Feeds of
[17:35] Heds Freight.
[17:36] They were helped with prizes, poop, our friends of library paid for these two programs that were
[17:42] free to the public.
[17:43] Also, community partners that we work with throughout the year, boys and girls club.
[17:49] You'll see some slides going right to the farmers market, head start, and the child advocacy
[17:55] center of the lot of the camp.
[18:00] project that Sony came up with, and we took it to the farmers market when you need.
[18:04] We had kids doing art. They got the news here that they're littering, we make sure that
[18:10] they littered that the farmers market and not the library. That also got a rest of the
[18:16] car for our boost buttons. And so that was fun. Sony and I were out there enjoying the heat,
[18:22] just like everybody else. And I mentioned the Boys and Girls Club. I went to both campuses
[18:27] for about six weeks, did about 15 different programs. I mean, we come up with all our own
[18:34] programming. This particular slide here is that the new teens in our group have wheel rotters.
[18:43] And these are, they don't really look like teens. They started at about 11, they call it the
[18:47] teen center, but they started about age 11. So we were reading this novel out loud that summer.
[18:56] It takes place in Australia, and there's lots of different really different animals in this book.
[19:01] And so each week, we would talk about a different animal. We'll do an art project. This is their
[19:05] Archie Weaver community. Now, this is at the lower grade over in Riverview Park. This is also Boys and Girls
[19:13] Club, Storytime. Again, always an art project that would have been playing lots of fun. Kids really enjoy it.
[19:22] Lots of hubs, even though, you know, there's this for like this, but you still get some hubs.
[19:30] Also, this started last year when we really couldn't have a lot of in-house programming.
[19:35] So I'm going to start making up bags to give away that had reading materials,
[19:41] to her kinds of literacy, will activities, and stuff, and always an art project. So I brought one,
[19:48] just to show you, because for me to say, I gave away 145 brevendows, you really wouldn't know what a
[19:54] grab a bill is. But it has several materials in it, and always an art project. And here's our old mass
[20:00] thought, and a man that'll be happy to see is that is, really, see six teachers on here. And so this is something
[20:09] that was just posted on our Facebook page, but that was the next grab and go. We gave away 145 of those
[20:15] the summer kids that came in. Here we go. Oh, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, oh,
[20:29] I'm sorry. Respect the clicker. Yes, that was okay, there you go. Okay, you're on it. I'm sorry,
[20:41] I didn't announce to you, but you went on the list, but- Oh, I'm not. I just saw it, yes.
[20:47] So, having a team librarian is kind of a newer thing, so this was kind of coming from nothing to something.
[20:55] So, some of our partners that we partnered with, was voicing real stuff.
[21:00] coming, darkened company, day and on boards, and more. So they've helped most of them
[21:05] help with our summer vash that will help somewhere about. The boys and girls club
[21:10] are set with duty, and they came to the library instead of me coming to them. So they got
[21:15] taking out in our newly improved teens center. So each week we did a weekly draft, they got
[21:22] to hang out in the teens center, look at books, play games, see what we have there, and then
[21:27] they're last week with Dean, they did some volunteer work in our base, letting them in our base.
[21:32] We did some more pictures of them. We did an event at the rocket park that was
[21:42] for everybody, and that was just being produced. So if you haven't been to the library, we do
[21:47] have a turtle at the library, so I can come in and see her. So we took her to the park, and we
[21:53] encouraged patrons to bring some of their unique pets to the park, and we gave some stuff away,
[21:59] which was nice to have to do with the rocket park, all fixed up when we worked at that.
[22:05] We do a lot of things online, especially with this COVID time, so we did an excuse at contest.
[22:10] We had 66 entries, so here's some of the pets that were on there, and one of our winners.
[22:19] And then summer vash that was our big huge thing, we had on the 27th, we did a cookout, we
[22:25] had a set of games out for families to come play, and we did a giveaway, we had 75 people.
[22:30] I'm also a big grab goes, just like we just did, this is the finished product of one of them, and I gave away 70 of those.
[22:37] I'm Cali, I'm the Assistant Library Director. I applied for and received a $9,000 grant from the Oklahoma Department of
[22:52] Libraries and the Institute of Museum of Library Services, so that we could do some health literacy
[22:57] programming that would be free to the community. Some of the things that we did with that are
[23:02] biggest input that we had from people, our biggest turnout was forced to be summer, since we couldn't
[23:10] bring people into the library due to COVID to do like hooking demonstrations or things like that.
[23:15] We chose to do recorded videos online of different movies and we did it four weeks in a row.
[23:21] We had over 1200 views, so over 1200 people clicked on those videos and watched them and had
[23:28] me going through making this movie, I put in facts and information about the ingredients and how
[23:36] they can help your body. We handed out 20 each week and we ran out so fast that the last week
[23:43] actually did 40. And so we ended up getting out over 100 smoothie kits and we partnered with the
[23:49] Farmer's Market so that we could hand them out and then you can see me and then our
[23:53] literacy coordinator, Charlotte there, handing those out and we also went over if they didn't
[23:57] get to see the video online, the best.
[24:00] had the recipe in there along with the ingredients so that they could make the
[24:04] smoothie the only thing we did include was like the milk because it was hot and
[24:07] we're not gonna try to add out milk but it's under degrees and then we had
[24:11] I included some quotes there people really really enjoyed it I mean a lot of
[24:16] people said oh we love it so much we want coffee ingredients and maybe more some
[24:20] reason blueberries were the biggest hit I don't know what the deal was with blueberries
[24:23] but almost every survey from that week was like blueberries again and people really
[24:28] want to see that again next year so we're gonna try to shoot for that for the next
[24:32] farmers market season again with COVID just like Judy and Sonic we have a
[24:37] kind of modify what we could do so we reached out to a martial arts academy who
[24:44] was already doing online classes for COVID and they put on a series some
[24:49] series of videos each one of six videos long tricking was more for kids I don't know
[24:54] it's kind of dance martial arts there's a picture of kids doing it at home on
[25:00] their laptop so they didn't have to come in anywhere at internet access in
[25:04] Facebook they couldn't do it anywhere and then we did adult fitness that had over
[25:08] 485 views yoga was probably the biggest one the 730 views and then our children's
[25:15] fitness was 510 views and those are also available on our website and on our
[25:21] Facebook page so anybody can access them any time it's completely free and then
[25:28] if anybody follows our Facebook page probably South Json and I then had to do it
[25:32] online due to the right the Skype and COVID cases recently we also had it in the
[25:38] newspaper about our cooking classes so we did a pressure cooker class that had
[25:42] 375 views after just two weeks and then our air fryer class had a hundred and
[25:47] 70 views after just a week and half of being up there with our funds we also
[25:54] a big chunk of that $9,000 went to putting the story walk in it is that rotary
[26:01] park have been finished but out there I want to say thank you to the Parks Department
[26:05] because they put all those in for us and if they wouldn't have helped it would have
[26:09] not happened so a huge thank you to those guys right now our story we had out there
[26:13] is turtle walk we've taken our turtle out there and actually walked around we
[26:18] can change those stories out they don't have to just eat children stories we could put
[26:22] local history information in there we can work for schools and display
[26:25] projects for our classes of really no limit except our imagination and what we could
[26:31] do with that so if anybody ever has any ideas of ways we could include other people
[26:37] within the community and we can do that for that story walk we also did a walking
[26:42] club in type two classes as well and he was kind enough to allow us to use their
[26:47] indoor track because of the heat and also we did pick it up again and the winter
[26:52] time we'll be able to use that so that we can continue to walk without the weather
[26:55] causing any conflicts and that's the end
[27:00] So thank you guys so much for giving us time to talk about what we've been doing in the library.
[27:04] Thank you.
[27:05] Thank you.
[27:06] Thank you.
[27:07] I have some really creative staff and I'm really proud of them.
[27:12] They've kind of been a lot more cool things to some of.
[27:15] And when you think about COVID and how that changed,
[27:18] how lovers had a new things, they were right on it.
[27:20] But we might be able to use a new ways that we could reach the public.
[27:24] Thank you.
[27:25] Is that still a mark packet?
[27:26] Pardon me.
[27:27] That's a mark packet.
[27:28] Yeah.
[27:29] It's an activities and it's got a little project in your and a story.
[27:33] What?
[27:34] I think you should give it a dock on these stuff to put together when we come back.
[27:39] Hey.
[27:40] Thank you ladies.
[27:43] Wow.
[27:44] 15 out of new business that's a business that's supposed to be this agenda.
[27:48] 16 staff reports.
[27:52] And 17 mayor and council committee and announcements.
[28:05] I would like to thank Amanda
[28:10] for a great weekend.
[28:12] She did a fantastic job.
[28:15] I've been on the board that she's on.
[28:18] She makes everybody's job look really easy.
[28:23] And I really appreciate it and what you've done.
[28:26] And I'm just tickled the death that your husband loaned you to this.
[28:31] Thank you for all you do.
[28:33] I would also like to just throw out that this was the first time we did this.
[28:39] And I don't think there was any hiccups.
[28:42] I mean, we had a couple of small things, like especially with my group.
[28:46] But that was because runners are a weird people.
[28:50] But man, fantastic.
[28:53] Not to that apart.
[28:55] A lot of leaders, including the tribal chief at the Peoria tribe, said he was in awe at how many people were there and how well the events he'd organized.
[29:05] So that's off to you.
[29:06] I hate that she walked out of here because I wanted to say two things this afternoon.
[29:16] I have not always agreed or appreciate it.
[29:23] Christy, but last Thursday, she did an excellent job with a mixed audience of landlords mostly.
[29:34] And handled that very, very well.
[29:36] And I wanted to commend her on that.
[29:40] And then secondly, I woke up at 218 this morning and it's just one of the things that I do any more of the older I get.
[29:46] But I was thinking that 35 and a half years ago, Bob Bless and I were in the second semester of our sophomore years.
[29:55] When, oh, when my I got gut punched.
[30:00] and good-rich left here, and the events of the last weekend, because of in large part
[30:10] bow and bless is willingness to take a risk, and aim a little high, and then the execution
[30:15] of Amanda and team, and all the rest of the city staff that jumped into support her, provided
[30:22] a sense of pride, maybe we hadn't seen in a really, really long time.
[30:32] We had been status quo for decades, as far as I was concerned, having been a lifelong resident
[30:37] other than college, and they were certainly nothing status quo about this weekend.
[30:43] It was a great event, but forward, anything else we had coming down the fight.
[30:48] I'd like to cabbage onto what you said about Christy too, because you didn't mention
[30:56] it, but at the end, one of the landlords that was very, very skeptical, said he felt much better
[31:02] at the end of this presentation, so I felt that was what we're seeing about Christy.
[31:10] Christy did handle it very well.
[31:12] That was an outstanding meeting, and she put it together really well.
[31:15] I'd add to that, just as we are learning about each other on this council, we're all kind of new
[31:21] to this, but we engage really, really intensely sometimes, and sometimes it's tough, and sometimes
[31:29] it's easy, and sometimes we come up with some cool stuff.
[31:32] I would ask the department, has managers in particular, to let your, you all know for sure
[31:40] and let your managers and other folks on your staff's know for sure, that we want to know
[31:44] when they're being exceptional.
[31:47] Status quo sucks.
[31:48] It'll always suck.
[31:49] It'll never be good enough.
[31:53] We don't want our kids being status quo or mediocre.
[31:58] We rose above status quo this weekend in the last few days, and that's all I want to do.
[32:03] And also, high tire, you and Robert, you guys outstanding, I mean, you is there to support
[32:10] Amanda, and everything she needed, you guys did a fantastic job on yourself, and I definitely
[32:16] appreciate what you both did also.
[32:18] But he died.
[32:23] Right.
[32:24] It was awesome.
[32:27] You didn't mean that before I go.
[32:31] He was like, okay, he should.
[32:32] He's not a kid.
[32:33] He's on a kid.
[32:34] He's a kid.
[32:35] It looked like a great time.
[32:43] So, this event this weekend was unbelievable.
[32:49] And there was something that was in my head that I wanted to do really, really bad, and, you
[32:56] know, bogg on board, we discussed it.
[32:59] But.
[33:00] When we gave it to Amanda Davis, it was over.
[33:04] This girl flips the switch and she doesn't stop till the job is done.
[33:09] And she does it to the best of her ability, which is pretty amazing.
[33:15] I had, we had people from all over.
[33:18] We had a stage guy that does concerts all over the country.
[33:21] And he said this one was put together better than any of them he'd done.
[33:26] That's pretty impressive.
[33:29] The acts that we had in from Nashville.
[33:32] So they were treated better here by Amanda and her staff.
[33:35] They had been treated anywhere.
[33:37] Those things make people want to come to Miami.
[33:41] She is probably the biggest cheerleader for this town.
[33:46] Next to me.
[33:48] No, but I'm telling you, she goes out.
[33:51] She works to tell off.
[33:52] And this week we were together quite a bit.
[33:56] See each other a lot, talking on the phone a lot.
[33:59] Because coming down at the end, there was a whole lot of details that got to be worked out.
[34:03] And she was up late.
[34:04] I know she got a very little sleep this week.
[34:07] Her anniversary was this week.
[34:09] And she didn't get to go out with her husband for anniversary.
[34:12] So we thank Chad.
[34:14] I think he's here.
[34:15] Are you here, Chad?
[34:16] There you go.
[34:17] Come on.
[34:19] Come on, Chad.
[34:20] So we appreciate Chad and her family for allowing her.
[34:25] The time to do this for our community.
[34:28] Because what she did this weekend was she drove a golden spike in the middle of Route 66 with
[34:34] Myem was name on it.
[34:35] And she put us on the map.
[34:37] Because this event that was executed this week for a town of our size was awesome.
[34:43] And she led it.
[34:44] And if she hadn't led it, it wouldn't have went off like it did.
[34:47] This girl is a rock star.
[34:49] And we cannot let her go anywhere.
[34:51] Because what she does for this community.
[34:53] So what that being said, the mayor and the city council along with your city manager and
[35:02] your city attorney would like to give you an anniversary card.
[35:05] So when you and Chad come up and get this.
[35:08] And we thank you both.
[35:10] And we want you.
[35:11] I know you guys are heading out Thursday.
[35:14] And we want to give you that to have a good time.
[35:17] Thank you.
[35:18] I love you guys.
[35:20] Thank you.
[35:22] Thank you.
[35:23] I think that's it for us.
[35:30] Now you go.
[35:31] I know.
[35:32] I'm crying.
[35:33] Well, excellent job.
[35:37] Very well deserved.
[35:38] I'll tell you, I couldn't be any more proud of getting to watch this whole team come together and execute this.
[35:45] Everybody at the city stepping up.
[35:48] Jumping in to do what had to be done.
[35:50] The coordination that it took was phenomenal.
[35:54] The coordination of the community.
[35:56] I mean, you know, we talk about.
[36:00] be security or fire safety. We had folks from tribes and county and everybody pulled together
[36:11] to do what had to be done. Our partners at GRDA providing resources, tribal resources,
[36:16] county resources. We had 30, 7 on security folks on here that didn't give a time. They're
[36:25] very event, which made a huge difference. The presence of our first responders there and available
[36:32] was awesome. Obviously we didn't have any major events that I'm aware of, so if we did,
[36:38] you'll have to tell me everything. Everything went off smoothly there, but the town looks amazing.
[36:46] I don't know about you all, but just drive around and look at our streets and our sidewalks and
[36:50] curves and other signs and the flower beds around the signs and everything looks a maximum. Kevin and
[36:57] his team and the parks and streets and it's the sanitation. Oh my gosh, these guys were out
[37:03] cleaning up. I mean when this thing was wrapping up at 12, one o'clock in the morning, they're out
[37:08] there, sweeping streets and picking up trash and empty in 72 trash bins up and down Main Street.
[37:15] So that the next morning, everything looked to make it. And Sunday morning, I had got out
[37:22] actually as closer around noon and I got out and drove down Main Street because I wanted to see what I was
[37:25] in for. What it looked like and you could tell anybody was there. Other than the barriers that were in the street,
[37:33] there was no trash, no nothing, no dumpster, no barrels, nothing. And again, it was just the pride
[37:38] everybody took in this was phenomenal and how well it went off and the cool thing is, it's now after
[37:45] our bid, it makes me doubt that everything looks so beautiful. Robert, thank you. You did awesome. You did.
[37:50] Brother, I kept seeing you and then just running every time I turned a corner, you were there,
[37:54] zippin' and doing something. Thank you. Somebody says, can you do that to Canada?
[37:58] Do you want the capability? Well, I'm saying the productivity he got out of this thing was pretty cool.
[38:04] Well, I'm just standing in line because we're high tired and Robert wants one thing. That guy's one
[38:10] and then, of course, Amanda staff, God love him. She was barking orders at him.
[38:17] No, it stopped for days and they were just running. Hoping to get everything done and it was cool to
[38:23] watch it all come together and come off. What appeared to be so flawless? 140 people. Wow.
[38:33] Working with the event. It's pretty phenomenal, but you know, the cool thing is, we learned a lot.
[38:44] We're going to be tracking our numbers and making sure we understand the full extent of what it costs us
[38:53] and we're going to watch the full extent of the revenue that all of our businesses and like.
[39:00] We're able to track our hotel, I mean our hotels, we're full and we're flowing and we have
[39:04] large groups calling us saying they had to go to the job one because everything was filled
[39:10] up and that is just really cool.
[39:12] The next year is going to be bigger and we are ready for next year.
[39:16] Take our lessons learned and vendors are already calling and I hear the number.
[39:21] Do you see three agencies calling day about building the ads?
[39:24] Three agencies calling that book and acts we've also got vendors that were calling asking
[39:28] about the revenue.
[39:29] It sounded like these were new vendors that had been here before but we're here during the
[39:33] event and now they want to participate in our radio.
[39:36] And we had sponsors, our people call and say they want to sponsor next year, they
[39:40] had to sponsor this year.
[39:41] They're already looking forward to sponsor next year.
[39:44] So, do you have anything you want to say?
[39:46] You said before but I see that a lot of a lot of them have well been ever been when we were
[39:55] forward and the purpose of this to mean better.
[40:00] The cool thing was we have a lot of institutional knowledge.
[40:04] HT, you wouldn't know it but his institutional knowledge and pulling off a research
[40:08] he was pretty neat and he was able to bring that to the table and help us which was really
[40:13] neat, Brian and his experience working out in the Fioria buffalo run and knowing how
[40:21] that went.
[40:24] It was really exciting.
[40:25] It's really cool.
[40:26] Can't wait to do it again and knock the socks off over.
[40:31] I'm not trying to take credit for anything but I've preached working together since I've
[40:48] taken over his mayor and this weekend shows what we can do as a community if we work together.
[40:57] We can pull off anything.
[40:59] I mean we had people saying this would never work.
[41:01] This would be a disaster and I don't see those people in the room today because it was very
[41:06] successful.
[41:07] And the estimates I've heard on numbers, you know, we went from 20,000 to 30,000 if we don't know
[41:12] if we're really going to get a matter of number.
[41:14] That's huge for our community.
[41:16] That's 30,000.
[41:19] Awesome.
[41:20] So, you know, there were no traffic issues.
[41:24] Now, we did work ahead and talking about, you know, people pulling together.
[41:31] I would not was working with this, OTA.
[41:33] Turn back authority was working with us and the highway control.
[41:36] We all met.
[41:38] I'd tell her and I went down to the met with him ahead of time and they were going to be monitoring
[41:43] all the toll booths.
[41:45] And in traffic, they brought in signs, digital signage.
[41:49] Of course, no cost of the city.
[41:51] They just brought in the digital signage and put it in our town to direct people as they're
[41:55] believing where they wanted to exit out of town.
[41:58] But obviously it all worked.
[42:00] great because again I never saw any traffic and I don't know where these people came from
[42:04] or how they got in here.
[42:05] Where they parked because parking was never to be there.
[42:08] But what did we did?
[42:10] We did it right.
[42:11] So we can repeat that again.
[42:13] But again, you know, the pulling together and everybody working.
[42:16] Pulling on the rope in the same direction.
[42:18] Maybe you should.
[42:19] And H.T.
[42:20] Put on the, he did a handle to car show, the Marseille show, Pokeron.
[42:23] And when I walk around talking to people, they were saying,
[42:26] this is a fabulous car show.
[42:28] But for your first one, you guys knocked out of the park.
[42:30] We're coming back.
[42:31] We had, how many entries do we have?
[42:33] 101.
[42:34] 101.
[42:35] So I mean, everything really went smooth.
[42:38] We were, we were waiting for the something to go wrong and it just didn't.
[42:41] Everything ran smooth.
[42:42] Even the pickle ball tournament.
[42:44] The sheriff ran that.
[42:47] Hold no.
[42:49] We had to put it in the fire department.
[42:52] The fire department, the fire department did run the corner.
[42:56] So we had 140 runners that are run there.
[42:59] And how's that there in the normal?
[43:01] No, but it was expected because this was, we didn't do it last year.
[43:06] It was more than we expected this year.
[43:08] I was put it like that.
[43:09] That's why.
[43:10] It was hot.
[43:11] So next year, I think we're going to do it in our earlier.
[43:13] Why?
[43:15] I don't know.
[43:17] I don't know.
[43:18] I don't know.
[43:19] I don't know.
[43:20] I don't know.
[43:21] I don't know.
[43:22] I don't know.
[43:23] I don't know.
[43:24] I don't know.
[43:25] I don't know.
[43:26] I don't know.
[43:27] I don't think he left it to a clock in the morning like you do.
[43:30] Did he?
[43:31] I don't know.
[43:33] And it certainly a big thank you to our tribes that pitched in.
[43:39] That were there working.
[43:41] Working alongside of us.
[43:43] Chief Cook.
[43:44] Bless her souls.
[43:46] Running VIPs on a golf cart.
[43:48] Back and forth, back and forth.
[43:50] Cross, cross, mainstream.
[43:52] All day.
[43:53] In a hundred degree heat.
[43:57] I rode with her.
[43:58] And I suggested riding with her early in the day.
[44:01] That lady's a workhorse.
[44:04] She is.
[44:05] And she can probably work me under the table.
[44:07] I want to get both of you to do because his leadership really led us to this thing.
[44:11] He's that steady solid guy.
[44:14] Now, I did see him when we were in a man's office on Thursday.
[44:18] The day before they went, I asked her.
[44:20] I said give me a number.
[44:21] I know you can't be spot on but give me a ballpark.
[44:24] And she says for both days.
[44:26] I said yes for both days.
[44:28] She said 30,000.
[44:30] And both said, oh my gosh, I want to be you.
[44:32] But it worked.
[44:34] But it worked.
[44:36] But it worked.
[44:38] Well, we got a great team.
[44:40] There's a lot to be put.
[44:42] This community has a lot to be proud of.
[44:44] It was very emotional for me.
[44:46] Having been gone for 30 years.
[44:50] And one of the things that I had talked with the council about when I came back.
[44:54] I can't help but always have those memories.
[45:00] back when I was a kid, the sidewalks out. That was just something that was really special.
[45:04] To me, to look forward to every summer, and me and my friends making plans to get up, get
[45:09] on our bikes, and boy, we're going to be down here on our bikes, you know, six AM, and walking
[45:15] up and down, mainstream this weekend. It was emotional. It was awesome.
[45:21] We worried about the award for the best shoppers, but yeah, she didn't get it.
[45:25] I would like to full advantage of her. She did a great job. Well, we got 363 days. We'll get
[45:31] do it all over you.
[45:53] And then we're doing a set of that tomorrow, but our committee will all be in the next Friday and 13th.
[45:59] I think that's very good. And then we'll move on to the ballroom, and we will
[46:04] go and watch that with a good start to finish. We'll go through gives them ads, and then once we get a
[46:10] game plan, and as much as we don't like to do it, the pot is going in, and because their layout
[46:15] really gets a big fact. I mean, we'll get the good bat and I believe that I think that's fine. We didn't have
[46:20] some businesses. If you guys do get calls of this one, something that weren't happy that we have
[46:25] the road shut down all day on Friday, but with our contracts and been going to test it this,
[46:30] they have 20 and 20 on Facebook, and these national acts. And the contract with the stage committee in
[46:36] the security, and having that secure location was a big deal. We kind of didn't have a choice. I mean,
[46:42] we had to have everything secured. And there was a lot going on Friday, and that's where it's playing.
[46:48] And we hope that that didn't show them to you guys, that they have set up the people they've
[46:52] seen in the press doors, that they can access it from the back, so we're kind of still trying to work out some
[46:58] of that stuff, but the thought is to really try to let the community have voice, and have some deep
[47:03] back to messing with it. There's things that we can do to make it better, we'll look at them. We
[47:08] like a lot, we were. We're going to do a lot of things wrong, and we'll fix that. I know I won't.
[47:13] Do you want to say something?
[47:21] I would like to recognize the takers, because they were big ones. Yes, they were big stations and
[47:28] Valerie and dispatch were in there. Yes, go absolutely. This one is the band, so. They did amazing.
[47:37] Truly, a bunch of great parties. Tyler's electric crew, they did amazing job running electric
[47:43] geldies while these boosts. Well, to be clear, they were wiring on the fly at that point.
[47:50] Rewire the main street to accommodate all that we did.
[48:00] It was a good job. I'm going to take an army to get this done and just
[48:05] think we had a great album to lead us on.
[48:09] I'm in your time, sorry.
[48:10] You're, I said there's a couple of things I want to mention real quick.
[48:15] This is the last week that the pool will be open full for a full week.
[48:20] It'll be 1 to 6 this week and then 1 to 6 on the weekends of August 14 to 15 and then
[48:27] 21st and 22nd and 22nd will be the last day that it's opened.
[48:32] And our day of the tenets has been really good at around 175.
[48:36] That's a good average that we've had.
[48:38] But, you know, considering what we had to do to get there and get it open,
[48:42] but we did it, glad we got there and I think our citizens appreciate what was done.
[48:49] Splash Pad is still running full steam ahead and it will remain open through minutes
[48:54] September as long as kids are willing to go out and get them in the water.
[48:58] Bless their little hearts.
[48:59] So, as long as it's warm enough, it'll keep running.
[49:03] Last thing I wanted to mention and I'll probably have Jill help me if I screw this up.
[49:08] We do need to mention the issue we had with the bill, ironically.
[49:15] So, we had made some changes recently to our billing.
[49:19] This is actually something that I think Josh had actually started some of the
[49:23] conversations around the modifications to the bill.
[49:26] And the modifications, one at a couple of the modifications, obviously,
[49:32] adding some graphs that had been put on there.
[49:35] But in order to do this, we had made changes in the way that we produced the bills and print the bills.
[49:43] And we have noticed that in the billing cycle that we just ran.
[49:50] The very first one with these modifications.
[49:54] There's a pair.
[49:55] Now, it's not the end of the world, it's not horrible, but it's not great.
[49:58] So, we'll have to do some communication.
[50:01] But essentially, on the bill, when it was printed, the amount to everything is correct.
[50:07] But as most bills have, there is an amount to do after.
[50:11] And it's a generally a number that's on the bottom that after the due date.
[50:16] There's what it's a 10% bill, a late fee that's applied.
[50:21] And so it just normally calculates the late fee to the amount due.
[50:25] And in this case, it printed zeros.
[50:28] So, the way the bill reads today is that if your bill is late, it's zero amount due.
[50:32] So, we'll have to hope that everybody understands that the amount due is the actual amount due.
[50:37] And that zero is not correct.
[50:40] And there's just a year.
[50:41] Josh, opposed on the shit show would be appropriate about that.
[50:44] Yeah.
[50:45] Yeah.
[50:46] We're blaming it on you because you made us change it.
[50:53] Yeah.
[50:54] Well, Josh's doing a very good changes.
[50:58] Yeah, one key.
[51:00] At least the amount is right.
[51:04] I have to get it.
[51:05] All right.
[51:06] That's all I'm going to do, Jim.
[51:08] So move. Second.
[51:10] Davis.
[51:11] Five.
[51:12] Five.
[51:13] Five.
