[00:00] This regular meeting of the Miami Special Utility Authority for today's date, we have tonight to give me a reason.
[00:08] Education pastor at First Christian Church Brian David Browns?
[00:15] That is pretty heavy-fought in just pause two bring our focus and upon you
[00:23] And further I pray that you would be with these men and women
[00:29] That have given up their time to serve this community.
[00:33] But, a prayer she'd grant them wisdom of the Father
[00:36] And pray that you would just bless their decisions.
[00:41] Father I also prayed, and blessed her family is the give this time to
[00:47] The community which pulls them away from your families
[00:51] So further we ask for special blessing upon
[00:54] Their Family during these times of separation
[00:56] And again, Father we ask for your wisdom. We asked you our insight to be upon this board
[01:03] Father I love You and praise Your. It's in Jesus' name my prayer
[01:07] Amen
[01:09] Thank God
[01:11] Congratulations
[01:13] To the flag of United States America
[01:16] And to the Republic for which it stands one nation under this will, there are T. and justice for all
[01:26] Thank You
[01:28] I have a number four is
[01:30] Father Henry for an unscheduled personal approaches
[01:33] Anyone in audience at Wichita address accounts on any of The Agenda
[01:39] They're being known out upon his consent agenda
[01:42] Staffers recommending items six-and seven for
[01:44] The consent agenda
[01:46] There are no questions either.
[01:48] Motion for a minute
[01:50] Second
[01:53] Joseph
[01:55] Fourth sir
[01:57] Hi
[01:59] I am eight author of the experience that have automatic transfer switch
[02:02] For Walmart, it will transfer power between Feature 22 and 29
[02:06] And the case in Outreach
[02:08] Not to exceed 65 thousand
[02:10] You know Tyler, I'm going to kind of take you.
[02:13] At the end
[02:15] Our last council meeting
[02:17] Council in Lester had pointed out that on Christmas day
[02:21] That Walmart experience managed
[02:24] And art staff was very quickly
[02:26] To care about it and
[02:28] Appreciate
[02:30] Work with a question wasn't there
[02:32] A switch
[02:34] It's supposed
[02:36] To be a good idea
[02:39] And after the meeting
[02:42] Tyler and I got on that
[02:44] Finally, as was also in 12 with this
[02:47] Because
[02:50] We understand from utilities
[02:52] Without your knowledge
[02:54] That project is basically killed
[02:56] It's not not done
[02:59] We've gone through some transitions
[03:01] But what I'm trying to do is pick up the pieces from there and continue forward
[03:04] On point out with Alicia's help
[03:07] She gave me a agenda item was
[03:09] And this would have been on July 3rd
[03:11] 2013
[03:13] What provided you
[03:15] Was report for David Roundtree
[03:17] Also, from Jeff Bishop
[03:20] About
[03:22] If they had power
[03:23] And if it's in excess of five
[03:26] Seconds, they have to reset everything
[03:28] Of the store empty
[03:30] The stores and at basically
[03:32] Effects their operations
[03:34] Empting a storage that large plus
[03:37] That was
[03:39] That is what I'm saying
[03:41] But
[03:43] At this time
[03:45] It worked with Tyler
[03:47] What do you understand about
[03:48] And I think it was trying to say some money
[03:51] There were a discussion about
[03:53] Trying build one of these
[03:55] In fact, even in what's given
[03:57] He used to do something
[04:00] Something along that line
[04:04] That doesn't make me feel real comfortable with the idea
[04:07] Building like this
[04:09] The best thing is
[04:12] To go out and buy something
[04:15] It has been tested as warranties
[04:16] And we'll handle things
[04:19] Not only handled the transfer
[04:21] Handle of switches when they're necessary
[04:23] But also it's for the safety
[04:25] Of our employees as well to make sure that something like this is built properly
[04:29] So Brian, excuse me Tyler has been working on
[04:33] In essence
[04:35] He said a little bit research
[04:38] We think in a new switch
[04:40] We have a lot of money
[04:44] And I understand that
[04:46] But it's something the council had
[04:48] Talked about doing in past
[04:50] It is
[05:10] And it also ties into the fact that
[05:14] I don't think we should be looking at this and
[05:17] This is not only improvement
[05:20] That would make our utility system
[05:23] We were talking before
[05:25] Before meeting started,
[05:27] It was called a
[05:29] Necal Substation
[05:31] The Rogers Practice field
[05:32] That's one that was installed in the early 1970s
[05:36] Has had some maintenance work but not a whole lot
[05:40] And really needs to be rebuilt
[05:42] To improve this electrical service
[05:45] Something like
[05:47] It is currently working on kind of an overall plan for improvements
[05:50] In our electrical system
[05:54] Just doing it
[05:56] Water System and sewer system
[05:57] But since this was an item that the council had identified
[06:02] And really improved just three years and I have less than 3
[06:05] Years ago, frankly
[06:07] Something it is promised to one of our businesses
[06:10] It's something
[06:12] That has never been necessary for their operations
[06:14] So we want a proceed with providing
[06:17] Providing you in getting approval so
[06:19] We can move on
[06:22] Definitely my recommendation
[06:24] We will be able to do this
[06:27] I want you
[06:29] To improve the system
[06:33] We are going
[06:35] To bring it
[06:38] I also highlight that our utility rates we have improved
[06:41] We're approved with
[06:45] The idea of some projects
[06:47] There was one question about where the specific line item will come out of
[06:51] And we have a one item, one line item in our budget for
[06:55] About 93 thousand dollars which is overhead lines
[06:58] So it'll be taking this expense
[07:01] We're keeping an eye on
[07:03] Our new revenue coming into our new rates just went
[07:06] To affect and seeing if that brings some additional revenue
[07:10] This probably something
[07:12] That were playing little catch up
[07:13] Provided to you but I also feel very comfortable that we are doing it right
[07:18] And what is being proposed by us
[07:20] Doing an in a write manner
[07:22] So thats why they will be recommending approval
[07:28] I have
[07:33] Tell on this with the generator
[07:35] That Dana had mentioned
[07:37] You possibly'll
[07:39] Have put into effect
[07:41] What businesses going
[07:44] To do?
[07:45] The issue of discount amount
[07:48] You're not going to be showing power off
[07:50] Anybody else?
[07:52] No, this is purely a circle
[07:54] With the type situation you are looking at other areas that could
[07:58] Underthe same types
[08:00] Have we
[08:02] This about only one so far
[08:04] That were up against
[08:06] What they dealing with right now
[08:08] Is an item for your reactive
[08:11] But what need
[08:12] So in our system we need to be a problem
[08:15] Not just two are commercial areas
[08:18] Even some of us service areas
[08:21] We have discussions around the hospital
[08:24] About improving electrical services
[08:26] And it is something that's long overdue
[08:30] That you do
[08:32] Have resources
[08:34] To deal with
[08:36] To have Tyler over a smaller organization
[08:39] Because an absolutely no offense to Joe
[08:42] He did it great job when he was public or extrector
[08:45] But we needed somebody
[08:47] We need some focus on our utilities
[08:50] It is just huge amount of infrastructure that
[08:52] That make sure they are taken care of properly
[08:55] I want Clara by something
[08:57] Brian used the term generator
[09:00] General, we put in a switch
[09:02] We need to have a temporary generator
[09:06] When we switch everything over
[09:08] But just for that particular time
[09:11] Just don't know what you are saying on the path
[09:13] No, not all of them
[09:15] That's it
[09:18] I had one more question
[09:20] And i'm not going put in my own spot
[09:22] The loss
[09:24] Of sales tax revenue per minute
[09:27] At Walmart and
[09:28] The numbers are still available
[09:30] It is pretty significant
[09:32] And that's one of the reasons we decided to have that
[09:35] I don't think it was a spot
[09:37] He will be less significant
[09:40] But again i
[09:42] Think were keeping a promise
[09:45] That had been made by the way
[09:47] With your question
[09:52] Do you want to go on item eight
[09:57] A promotion
[10:00] Second
[10:02] Hi
[10:04] Johnson
[10:06] Thank you
[10:08] Thanks to our item nine new business
